Biography
Dr. Anja C. Roden is Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic and is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with special expertise in thoracic pathology.
She received her medical education at Humboldt University in Berlin and Technical University in Dresden, Germany. Following training in general surgery and immunology research, she completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, a Surgical Pathology Fellowship, and a Pulmonary Pathology Scholarship at Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Roden currently serves as Medical Director of the Immunostains Laboratory, Pulmonary Pathology Fellowship Director, and head of the thoracic transplant section at Mayo Clinic.
Her research focuses on mediastinal neoplasms, mesothelioma, biomarkers, and pulmonary transplant pathology. She has authored more than 180 peer-reviewed publications, over 40 book chapters, and co-edited multiple textbooks.
Dr. Roden serves in leadership positions within several international pathology organizations and is widely recognized as a leader in thoracic pathology.
