IHC

Villin

Identifies villin, an actin-binding protein present in human renal epithelial cells, used as a marker for gastrointestinal tract–derived carcinomas. Along with CDX2, villin is a highly specific and moderately sensitive marker for colorectal and other GI tract (pancreatobiliary) carcinomas, typically showing a brush border pattern. A subset of lung adenocarcinomas may also express villin.
