IHC

Uroplakin III

Identifies a transmembrane protein specific to urothelial cells, serving as a marker of transitional cell epithelium and tumors. In normal urothelium, UPIII is expressed on the luminal surface of superficial cells. It is highly specific but only moderately sensitive for detecting urothelial carcinomas and may reflect malignant potential.
