IHC

SOX10

Identifies SOX10, a highly specific and sensitive nuclear transcription factor expressed in nerve sheath tumors and melanomas, including conventional, spindle, and desmoplastic types. It is also seen in salivary gland and soft tissue tumors with myoepithelial differentiation, and is diffusely expressed in schwannoma, neurofibroma, and granular cell tumors. SOX10 is more specific than S100 and rarely expressed in other mesenchymal or epithelial tumors.
