IHC

PTEN

Identifies a tumor suppressor protein frequently lost or mutated in many cancers, including breast, prostate, and endometrial tumors, and in Cowden syndrome–associated lesions. Loss of PTEN expression can serve as a prognostic and predictive marker, correlating with more advanced disease in breast and prostate cancer. PTEN loss has also been associated with predicting response to Herceptin in HER2-positive breast cancers.

Synonyms

Phosphatase and Tensin Homolog
