Useful for detecting myoglobin-containing tubular casts within renal tubules. However, it is not recommended for identifying rhabdomyosarcoma, as more specific markers are available for that purpose.

Specimen Requirements
Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue block or cell block — OR —Three (3) unstained slides per requested test, plus one to two (1–2) additional unstained slides, cut at 4 µm thickness
Storage and Transportation
Use cold pack for transport. Make sure cold pack is not indirect contact with specimen.
