MYD88 Mutation Analysis

Bi-directional sequencing analysis on MYD88 exon 5, including detection of the common L265Pmutation. It helps differentiate lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma (LPL)/Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia (WM) from other lymphomas, including the B-cell-like (ABC) and germinal center B-cell-like (GCB) subtypes of diffuse large B-cell lymphomas. MYD88is also implicated in susceptibility to BTK inhibitors in the treatment of B-cell neoplasms.

Specimen Requirements

Whole blood (3-5 mL), Bonemarrow (1-2 mL), in Lavender-top (EDTA) tube. Formalin-fixed,paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue block (preferred) or slides (1 H&E slide, plus 5-10 unstained slides cut at 5+ microns). Please use positively charged slides and 10% NBF fixative. Do not use zinc fixatives. Fresh tissue (Lymph Node or Needle Core tissue Biopsy), 0.5-1cm3 in RPMI.

Storage and Transportation

Use cold pack but not in direct contact with specimen. For fresh samples: refrigerate before shipping and ship them on the same day as drawn whenever possible. Do not freeze.
