Keratin 5/14 Cocktail (CK5+CK14)

Detects cytokeratins 5 and 14, markers of basal and myoepithelial cells in stratified and complex epithelia. This cocktail is useful in identifying squamous differentiation, distinguishing basal-like breast carcinomas, and differentiating benign from malignant glandular lesions based on the presence or absence of basal/myoepithelial layers.

Detects cytokeratins 5 and 14, markers of basal and myoepithelial cells in stratified and complex epithelia. This cocktail is useful in identifying squamous differentiation, distinguishing basal-like breast carcinomas, and differentiating benign from malignant glandular lesions based on the presence or absence of basal/myoepithelial layers.

Specimen Requirements

Tissue Block: Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tumor block preferred. Unstained Slides: Recommended 2 charged slides per stain requested (minimum of 1 slide per stain), baked or unbaked. Fixation: Tissue must be fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin for 6–72 hours.

Storage and Transportation

Use cold pack for transport. Make sure cold pack is not indirect contact with specimen.
