Dr. Barry is the Medical Director at Clarient, Inc.



He is a Board certified hematopathologist, as well as Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Dr. Barry contributes extensively to the field of hematopathology and immunohistochemistry, publishing widely in major journals, including the American Journal of Surgical Pathology (AJSP), American Journal of Clinical Pathology (AJCP), Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), Modern Pathology, Blood, Leukemia Lymphoma, etc. Dr. Barry is also invited to present regularly at national and international conferences.


Dr. Taylor is a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Pathology at USC Keck School of Medicine



Dr. Taylor received his B.A. from Cambridge in 1966, his M.B., B.Chir. from Cambridge in 1969 (with distinction in pharmacology), his M.A. from Cambridge in 1971 and M.A. from Oxford in 1974. Dr. Taylor also received his D.Phil (equivalent to Ph.D. in the US) from Oxford in 1975 and his M.D. from Cambridge in 1980. Dr. Taylor has published a total of more than 250 peer-reviewed publications extending from 1973. In addition, there are in excess of 40 chapters and non-peer-reviewed articles, together with twelve books, in which Dr. Taylor is the primary author.


His primary areas of research relate to the immunologic diagnosis and treatment of malignant lymphoma and solid cancers, particularly through the development of monoclonal antibodies. Dr. Taylor is principal investigator and co-principal investigator on more than a dozen funded peer review grants extending from 1975. He is currently the PI on two grants and has also been Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Southern California since 1997.


David G. Hicks, MD, is the Director of Surgical Pathology, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center



Dr. Hicks earned his bachelor’s degree from Canisius College of Buffalo in New York and subsequently his medical degree, with honor and distinction, from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Active in research throughout his career, Dr. Hick’s research interests focuses on the molecular genetic profiling of clinical samples from patients with cancer. Much of his recent work has involved a search for new molecular genetic markers to help better understand the prognosis and guide therapeutic management of breast cancer.


Dr. Hicks has co-authored numerous articles that have appeared in a variety of Journals including, Cancer Research, Clinical Cancer Research, The American Journal of Pathology, Cancer and the American Journal of Surgical Pathology. He also serves on the editorial boards of the Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, and in addition is an ad hoc reviewer for The American Journal of Pathology, Breast Cancer Research, Cancer and Clinical Cancer Research. Dr. Hicks has also previously worked with the Department of Anatomic Pathology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (CCF).


David is an executive recruiter and consultant to bioscience companies on matters of strategy, technology development, licensing, and marketing



David was the founding scientist of the Molecular Pathology group at Dako, a multi-national pathology systems company, and during 15 years at Dako held leadership roles in R&D, business development, and marketing. David was instrumental in forming some of the first predictive medicine alliances between Dako and leading biopharmaceutical companies for the development of cell- and tissue-based assays to predict response to targeted oncology therapies.


More recently, David was Chief Technology Officer at Stellar Biotechnologies, an NCI-funded company with immune response modifier technology for therapeutic vaccines, and CEO of The Terosin Group, a UCSB start-up that developed drugs from the pseudopterosins – a unique class of anti-inflammatory marine natural products.


David also serves as an advisor to Agility Capital LLC of Santa Barbara and the Technology Management Program at UCSB. David earned his Ph.D. in Biology and his B.A. in Aquatic Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
